Chemical peels 20-30 minutes

Chemical peels trigger a healing response for increased formation of collagen & elastin which are designed to support & strengthen the skin.  The correct peel will be recommended to you based on your concerns & skin type.  Phase I & II chemical peels may be repeated every 2 weeks, Phase III & IV every 4 weeks.

Phase I     85.

Phase II    170.

Phase III  255.

Phase IV   350.

Skin Repair Program 305. Four 20 minute treatments scheduled every 2 weeks.

For optimal results, the Skin Repair Program is an aggressive skin corrective therapy without the down time & irritation associated with invasive treatments. Skin Repair Program jump starts skin rejuvenation & dramatically improves the appearance of:

•         Sensitive or Rosacea Skin

•         Rough Skin

•         Acneic Skin

•         Hyperpigmentation

•         Fine Lines & Wrinkles

•         Lax Skin

Clinical Facial 125. 45 minutes

The ultimate in relaxation & results for photodamaged skin, Clinical Facials may be scheduled every 4 weeks.

How Can Chemical Exfoliation Improve My Skin?

Acneic Skin: Acneic skin produces 5X more dead skin cells than other skin conditions.  Hydroxy acids prevent dead skin cells from clogging the follicle contributing to acne. Avoid physical exfoliants/scrubs, which can worsen inflammation.

Aging Skin: As we become older the natural sloughing of cells from the skin becomes more difficult, causing a buildup that results in dull, thick skin with less tone.  On average, cell renewal takes from 28-35 days in mid-life, & up to 90 days in maturity. Chemical peeling is used to treat fine lines, especially under the eyes & around the mouth.  Wrinkles caused by sun damage, aging & hereditary factors can be reduced or even eliminated with this chemical peeling.

Hyperpigmentation: Hypermigmentation is an increase in color caused by either an increase in melanin, an increase in melanocytes or is from substance that adds color by forming deposits in skin.  Exfoliation helps shed these pigmented cells more quickly & will also help remove the dead skin cells so ingredients can effectively penetrate hyperpigmentation at its source.

Dry, Dehydrated Skin: A lack of moisture in skin leads to gaps in the cellular barrier, leaving skin feeling tight & stretched.  Many people tend to over moisturize rather than exfoliate, which sticks the older skin cells down, leading to a dull, uneven skin tone.  Through exfoliation, drying skin cells are effectively removed, & moisturizing, hydrating ingredients can penetrate deeper into the skin to help ease dry & dehydrated skin conditions.  Acids stimulate the development of glycosaminoglycans which is the basis of the dermal matrix.

In my practice, I use superficial to medium-depth peels. Research indicates that a series of exfoliating treatments can actually be much more effective than one very aggressive procedure & less costly. Integrated Aesthetics Clinical Facials, Chemical Peels & our Skin Repair Program uses various strength peels to target your concerns.  Following chemical resurfacing, elastin & collagen reach their maximum rejuvenation in 10-14 days.  For that reason, professional resurfacing should be performed every 14 days in a series of 4-6 (Skin Repair Program), allowing 6-8 weeks healing time after the completion of a series or the skin will not reach its optimum level of benefit from each service.   I recommend at least one Skin Repair Program a year, preferably during the fall or winter months with monthly Clinical Facials or Phase I &/or Phase II chemical peels for monthly maintenance.  The peels & strengths are designed for maximum results with minimal side effects as not to  interrupt your daily schedule.  To maximize the therapeutic results of our chemical peels it is important to pre-condition & maintain the results  with a supervised skin care program, especially in darker skinned clients whose concern is hyperpigmentation.  Improvements in the signs of aging show beneficial improvements after the first month of beginning treatment.  A decrease of fine lines & wrinkles begin 2-4 months later, this improvement increases in the next 9-16 months.  Flaccidity improves after 12 months.  Benefits persist after 12-16 months with maintenance treatments.

Please note chemical peels increase sensitivity to sun.  The FDA requires that sunscreen must be applied following any chemical exfoliating treatment.  Research shows sunscreens formulated with antioxidant vitamins provide enhanced protection against UV light & free radicals.

Chemical peels can not remove loose or sagging skin since they can not eliminate the gravitational forces which produce the loose skin.  While chemical peels can not change pore size or remove broken blood vessels on the face, the procedure may improve the appearance of these conditions.  Chemical exfoliation may be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, feet, arms & legs.
