collagen induction therapy
Collagen Induction Therapy a Type I FDA approved non-ablative, non-surgical skin treatment offers one of the best preventative & restorative, 45-minute anti aging treatment available. CIT offers an alternative to Fraxel, Botox & fillers to rejuvenate the skin. Suitable for all skin types, CIT only clefts the epidermis & stratum corneum meaning this process can be repeated safely with no risk of photosensitivity or postinflammatory hyper/hypopigmentation on all Fitzpatrick types. The premise of CIT is to create micro-channels in the skin to stimulate a controlled physiological response to the wounding & healing process: The Phases of Skin Remodeling - inflammation (immediate), proliferation (up to 8 weeks), & tissue remodeling (up to one year) to increase the production of collagen & elastin. Treatment begins with the cleansing of the skin & the application of a topical numbing agent. A solution made up of vitamins, growth factors, peptides, antioxidants & amino acids is spread over the skin. The roller, made up of approximately 200 fine surgical needles is applied to the skin. With microchannels open in the skin the remainder of the solution is applied, the use of LED &/or ultrasound further enhances penetration & absorption rate of the active ingredients up to 3,000% into the deeper layers of the skin. CIT is most commonly used for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation, stretch marks & mild forms of non-inflamed rosacea. CIT restores skin tightness, speeds up the reduction of pigmented marks, thickens thin skin, smooths fine lip/eye lines & softens scars. Containdications: keloid or hypertrophic scarring, eczema, psoriasis, actinic keratosis, herpes simplex infection, diabetes, scleroderma, collagen vascular disease, rosacea, fillers in the past 6 months.
